64K ISDN dial-up connection is in essence a digital dial-up.
It was designed for those users who needed more speed than an analogue dial-up connection could deliver.
It does not have the same limitations that a conventional dial-up does, as it uses digital signals as opposed to the analogue signals of the former. The use of digital signals allows for a continuous flow of data, and also allows for the higher speeds.

An ISDN connection due to its digital interface does not suffer from "packet loss" as an analogue dial-up does, and also has significantly less data loss as a result.

ISDN is the most cost effective digital connection available, as the modem and line installation costs are not much higher than those for an analogue dial-up connection.

128K ISDN connection differs from the 64K in relation to speed only, as it operates at double the speed of the 64K connection, and as a result it's connection speed when downloading information is also twice that of the 64K connection.

The true beauty of the 128K ISDN connection is it's versatility, as it can operate at either 64K or 128K, because it is in essence two 64K connections which operate simultaneously.
